At first sight, the drama might seem like a typical office romantic comedy with similar vibes as “What’s Wrong With Secretary Kim” or “Secret Life Of My Secretary” but actually, the plot of the series is very original. Here are 5 reasons why “Business Proposal” should be on your watchlist.
1. A real rom-com without SLS
It is original in the sense that it has up to down avoided several typical cliches of character identity. In several K-Dramas like “Start-Up” or “She Was Pretty” the true identity of the main character is revealed when we reached the 9th or 10th episode. Instead, “Business Proposal” gives us a semi-reveal of the main character’s true identity. It has also avoided second lead syndrome by giving us a second lead couple which everyone is curious about. The drama also gives us a very supportive, understanding, and hilarious grandfather. He has already many fans since the first episodes with his funny talks. For people who like to watch romantic comedies with only laughter and swoon-worthy moments excluding dramas and tragic stories. This is the best healing K-drama for you. All in all, it is the romantic comedy many have been looking for!
2. Talented actors
“Business Proposal” stars many highly experienced and professional actors such as Kim SeJeong, who starred in “School 2017”, “I Wanna Hear Your Song” and “The Uncanny Counter”, Ahn HyoSeop, who starred in “Abyss”, “Dr. Romantic 2” and “Lovers Of The Red Sky”, Seorina who starred in “Strong Woman Do BongSoon”, “School 2017” and “Mr. Queen” and lastly Kim MinGue who starred in “Perfume”, “So I Married The Anti-Fan” and “Snowdrop”. So, we are already assured that the show will be filled with perfect acting.
3. Comedy that will make you laugh
The newly invented jokes and action sequences will give you an entire hour of laughter. One specific scene I fondly remember is the scene when Shin HaRi acted as if she was possessed by a ghost to help her friend ruin her blind date. We can also mention the “Samantha and Rachel” scene that went viral on social media.
4. Chemistry on the point
Almost every relationship in this K-Drama has a strong bond. Ranging from the main couple, the second lead couple, the bromance between Kang TaeMu and his secretary, the friendship between Shin HaRi and her friend, and even Kang TaeMu’s relationship with his grandfather has a lot of witty and funny interactions.
5. Cinematography and editing
The first scene of the series is amazing. The way that it transitions from a comic book to live-action is fascinating.
