You can click here to find all our Romantic Picks, in one place! This week, our Romantic Pick is from the ongoing K-Drama “Rookie Cops” starring Kang Daniel and Chae SooBin. “Rookie Cops” follows freshmen at the Korea National Police University as they navigate their personal lives and professional responsibilities, learning from mistakes and growing together. The drama also stars Lee ShinYoung and Park YoonA in main roles. The story so far has seen Wi SeungHyun and Ko EunKang, played by Kang Daniel and Chae SooBin respectively, grow fond of each other and slowly fall in love. It is important to note here that the love they have is not a rushed infatuation but rather, a patient, understanding, and sincere love. However, that doesn’t stop them from being playful and childlike with each other. In episode 10 of “Rookie Cops”, our lead couple Wi SeungHyun and Ko EunKang, get into quite a bit of a pickle, brought on by the butterflies they give each other. After dropping EunKang off at home, SeungHyun can’t seem to tear himself away from her. They spend the next couple of minutes debating on who should leave first, all the while longing to spend the rest of eternity together. As SeungHyun looks at EunKang with his pining puppy eyes, EunKang steps forward and gives him a sweet little peck before saying goodbye. However, her steady doting gaze at SeungHyun implies that she doesn’t quite want to leave yet.
Taking the hint, SeungHyun pulls her in for a deeper kiss, replete with passion and affection. The way they say a thousand words with their eyes and then lose themselves in the silence of a kiss, speaks volumes of the feelings they have for each other. This is peak romance and we’re living for it!
What they seem to have forgotten in the heat of the moment is that they’re right in front of her house, completely exposed. Much to their dismay, her sister walks in on them, leaving them stunned and very embarrassed.
Contrary to the reaction they expected, she tells them to continue what they were doing and pardon her intrusion. Hiding her face with her tiny purse, she waddles away in the most adorable way possible. Finally aware of their situation, SeungHyun wishes EunKang a playful goodnight before leaving happily.
The sheer sweetness of this scene, the innocent sincerity in their eyes, and the youthful brightness of it all are what make “Rookie Cops” such a wholesome, fulfilling watch. We cannot wait to see more of SeungHyun and EunKang’s rosy relationship in the future. Are you watching “Rookie Cops”? Share your thoughts with Kpopmap in the comments section down below!
